FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Vercors en Lumières?2025-05-02T16:15:52+02:00

Vercors en Lumières is an immersive night-time walk through nature. Equipped with an open-ear audio headset, you’ll follow a lit trail deep in the forest of Bois Barbu, just minutes from Villard-de-Lans. As you walk, a story unfolds: that of a grandfather and his granddaughter as they explore the rich natural and cultural heritage of the Vercors. The story is whispered in your ear and perfectly synchronised with discreet visual effects, video projections and lighting. Each stop reveals a new facet of the plateau (its wildlife, plant life, geology and wartime history) for a poetic and respectful sensory experience.

How long is the route? How much time should I allow?2025-04-29T12:10:48+02:00

The trail is about 1.2 km long. The walk takes around 1 hour, but you’re free to go at your own pace. Our team will be present throughout to ensure everything runs smoothly.

What is included in the ticket?2025-04-29T12:11:07+02:00

Your ticket gives you access to the full immersive experience and includes an audio headset (available in French or English).

What should I wear?2025-04-29T12:12:47+02:00

The entire experience takes place outdoors on a natural forest path with some elevation. We recommend sturdy closed-toe shoes and a warm layer — even in summer, evenings in the mountains can be chilly. For young children, we strongly recommend using a baby carrier instead of a pushchair. By purchasing your ticket, you confirm that you are able to safely complete an outdoor walking activity.

Can I buy tickets on site?2025-04-29T12:13:46+02:00

Yes, subject to availability, you can buy tickets on site from 8:30pm (card payment only). However, we strongly recommend booking online to secure your preferred time slot.

What happens in case of rain?2025-04-29T12:14:07+02:00

The walk goes ahead in light or moderate rain. Once in the forest, the trees offer partial cover, but we advise wearing a waterproof jacket. In the event of extreme weather (storm, strong winds), the experience may be cancelled for safety reasons. In this case, you’ll be notified by email and/or text with information on how to reschedule.

Are the time slots strict?2025-04-29T12:14:35+02:00

Yes. Please arrive at the welcome area at the exact time stated on your ticket (under “Date and time of the event”). Entry is by timed slots to ensure a smooth and calm experience.
Times are adjusted to coincide with nightfall. Late arrivals may be refused entry if the slot is full or if the site is closing.

Where can I park?2025-04-29T12:16:06+02:00

Free parking is available at the Bois Barbu carpool area, right near the Welcome zone: Aire de covoiturage – Bois Barbu, 3075 Route de Bois Barbu, 38250 Villard-de-Lans

What happens if I find myself unable to come on the scheduled date? Can I postpone my visit to a later date or get a refund?2023-04-25T14:55:27+02:00

The tickets for the tour are non-refundable. You can make an exchange request via our online form at least 48 hours before the reserved date (this request is subject to the availability of places). No exchanges are possible on site or by phone.

Is the visit suitable for children? What about people with reduced mobility?2023-04-25T14:59:38+02:00

The Parc et Lumières experience is aimed at all audiences, young and old, and is particularly suitable for families with children (the visit is free for children under 7). However, the tour is not accessible to pushchairs and children who are not able to walk.

The tour takes place entirely outdoors on an unpaved nature trail with unlevelled areas, which makes it difficult for people with reduced mobility to use. Unfortunately, the tour is not accessible to wheelchair users.

Do we have to print our ticket or can we present it in digital format?2022-06-15T15:32:14+02:00

You can present your ticket on your smartphone.

Are dogs and other pets allowed?2023-04-25T15:04:17+02:00

We have installed a number of sensors to trigger certain light displays on the visitor trail. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead to avoid disturbance.

Is it possible to eat on site?2023-07-05T16:44:31+02:00

The Château du Parc offers light catering: a gourmet snack to be booked in advance and eaten on site before the visit. More information will be available soon.
For your gourmet break, we have selected local, healthy and authentic products, without oleaginous, without GMO, without additive but with a lot of taste, originality and love.

  • 26€ gourmet basket for 2 people, CLASSIC MENU
Gourmet snack, fresh bread, mini sausages, Larzac cheese, spit cake and a glass of good local wine of your choice
  • 26€ gourmet basket for 2 people, VEGGIE MENU
Gourmet vegetable snack , fresh bread, Larzac cheese, spit cake and a glass of good local wine of your choice.

The Pique-Nocte is packaged for 2 people. If your group has an odd number of people, here are two solutions:
– The “bon vivant” solution: provide 1 extra Pique-Nocte (the little jars keep for 4 or 5 days in the fridge after opening);
– The picky eater solution: 1 Pique-Nocte is enough for 3 people, as everything can be shared.

You can reserve this basket for 2 people after selecting your tickets. In this case, we advise you to arrive at least 45 minutes before your slot!

For those who have already bought tickets and would like a picnic, you can write to us using the contact form to reserve the basket for 2 people, to be paid for on the spot.

The picnic area is reserved exclusively for visitors who eat our Pique Nocte products.
